The new edition of Músicos en la Naturaleza will be held in the town of Hoyos del Espino on the 8th of July and will have as the first artist confirmed the British singer Sting who will present his new project "57th & 9th Tour". The versatile singer, with more than 100 million records sold in his 40 years of professional career, will return to the Sierra de Gredos after his participation in the first and successful edition of the festival. Sting is currently touring North America, Europe, Mexico, South America and Asia from his latest work. The economic repercussion of the festival is estimated higher than 15 million in these eleven editions.

The Minister of Fomento y Medio Ambiente, Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones presented this morning the new edition of the Músicos en la Naturaleza festival which will feature, as the first artist confirmed with Sting who will rise to the Avila stage of Hoyos del Espino on Saturday, July.

Suarez-Quiñones recalled that "Sting already knows what it is to act with Sierra de Gredos in the background" and will return to take the stage "11 years and 7 days after being the undisputed protagonist of the first and successful edition with which he started This festival in 2006 ". The singer will arrive at Hoyos del Espino after touring more than 60 cities around the world presenting his new album "57th & 9th". Suárez-Quiñones emphasized that "more than 800 million albums have sold the list of artists who have risen to the stage of Músicos en la Naturaleza in these eleven editions" and even "we have had a Nobel Prize"

July 8 is the date chosen for the return of Sting to the Sierra de Gredos of the legendary singer, songwriter, lyricist, actor and author Sting who throughout his forty years of career has sold more than 100 million records, Received 16 Grammy Awards, 2 Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, 3 Oscar nominations, a TONY nomination, a Billboard Magazine's Century Award, and inclusion in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Along with these recognitions his influence on other artists and in different generations make of Sting a reference in the History of the music.

In Hoyos del Espino will present his latest studio album '57th & 9th Tour', Sting will be accompanied by a band of 3 musicians that includes his usual guitarist Dominic Miller, Josh Freese (drums) and Rufus Miller (guitarist).

Sting's twelfth studio album, '57th & 9th', his first pop / rock work in a decade, was released on 11 November via A & M / Interscope Records. The ten songs that make up the album represent Sting's broad range of musical styles, from the strident guitars of the first single 'I Can’t Stop Thinking About You' to the fierce 'Petrol Head' or the '50,000' anthem. The album, produced by Martin Kierszenbaum, was recorded in just a few weeks with regular collaborators from Sting, Dominic Miller (guitar) and Vinnie Colaiuta (drums). Also participating were drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails, Guns n 'Roses) and guitarist Lyle Workman, while the choirs were recorded by the Tex-Mex group, The Last Bandoleros.

The sustainable nature of the festival and the environmental commitment of Sting are back together to promote the environmental values of the Sierra de Gredos, as demonstrated in the memorable concert held on 1 July 2006 in Hoyos del Espino .

The direct economic repercussion in these eleven years is estimated to exceed €15 million €, among the different economic activities of the area and that together with the very important promotion of the destination Gredos, during the months prior to the festival, make the initiative a Perfect showcase in which to spread the natural, environmental and tourist values of this Natural Area.

This promotion has been quantified at more than €7 million, taking into account the impacts (more than 490 million) and the audience that has taken place over the years.

The surveys carried out at the concert indicate the great acceptance of the initiative, the important assessment of the organization and shows that the attendees intend to return to visit this area of Ávila after the festival.

The history of Musicians means that more than 108,000 people have attended the eleven concerts that have been held so far and began with the world tour "Broken Music" Sting in 2006. Throughout these editions Organization has been faithful to the original idea of the festival: to create their own style with the participation of artists who "are part of the History of Music" and to make rock, its leitmotiv. Thus, by the stage of Gredos have acted the Nobel Prize, Bob Dylan, Pet Shop Boys, Mark Knopfler, The Beach Boys, Deep Purple, John Fogerty ... or national artists who have used their peculiar artistic style to dazzle thousands of followers: Joaquín Sabina, Manolo García, Rosendo, Nacha Pop, Miguel Ríos, Amaral ... among them they have sold more than 800 million records.
