Gilda’s Club NYC, the organization that offers free cancer support programs to those impacted by cancer and their families in the New York City metropolitan area, has announced its first-ever concert, “It’s Always Something,” occurring virtually on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 8pmEST. All proceeds from the special event will benefit the organization, which was founded in memory of the late, legendary comedian and original Saturday Night Live cast member, Gilda Radner.

The “It’s Always Something” Concert will feature exclusive performances by Sting, Jon Batiste, Rosanne Cash, Kenny Loggins, David Sanborn, Kandace Springs, Bernie Williams & Gil Parris as well as appearances from Robin Roberts, Jon Hamm, Brooke Shields, Susie Essman and J.B. Smoove.  The concert raises funds for Gilda’s Club NYC’s vital programs and ensure that No One Faces Cancer Alone.

“As Gilda would say, ‘it’s always something’ and she was right,” says Lily Safani, CEO of Gilda’s Club NYC. “Throughout this pandemic, Gilda’s Club NYC continued its critical initiatives to support, educate and empower cancer patients and their families albeit virtually and provided accessibility to everyone living with cancer – especially the underserved and uninsured. We are incredibly grateful to all the artists that are donating their time to help us raise funds to support our free programs and reach more New Yorkers than ever before.”

The concert will be live streamed on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 8pmEST at https://www.youtube.com/c/GildasClubNewYorkCity. For more information or to make a donation, please visit gildasclubnyc.org or text ‘Next25’ to 41444.

Susan Brecker and Mark Krantz are the executive producers of the “It’s Always Something” Concert, with original Saturday Night Live writer and long-time Gilda’s Club NYC supporter Alan Zweibel consulting. Ray Conley will direct the event with Will Lee as music director and Dan Melnick serving as coordinating producer.

The demand for the Gilda’s Club NYC cancer support program increased dramatically during the pandemic. Participation in their program grew by 55% last year. This concert provides an opportunity to help them continue to meet the needs of anyone impacted by cancer.

Gilda’s Club New York City provides a welcoming community of FREE social and emotional support for anyone impacted by cancer – adults, teens, children and their families who are living with a cancer diagnosis, post treatment, caregivers, or grieving the loss of a loved one due to cancer. Our innovative program is an essential complement to cancer care, providing support groups, educational lectures, healthy lifestyle workshops and social activities. Traditionally, the program is offered at their Clubhouse in the West Village and medical centers throughout NYC, but currently the program is offered virtually. Over 11,000 individuals are reached annually by the unique program. Gilda’s Club NYC was founded in memory of Gilda Radner, the talented comedienne and first cast member of Saturday Night Live (SNL) who passed away in 1989 from ovarian cancer. Gilda’s Club NYC’s iconic red door opened in 1995 to provide a place where cancer patients, their families and their friends can learn to live with cancer, whatever the outcome. At Gilda’s Club NYC, they believe no one should face cancer alone.

Regrettably the show scheduled to take place at Lunden in Horsens, Denmark on 19 June 2021 has had to be rescheduled to 24 June 2022. Please note there is a venue change to Fængslet which is slightly larger than the previous venue and will accomodate more guests so additional tickets are now on sale.
